We bring our own intensive care nurse and doctor, we have ventilators and monitors, and we’ll have extra syringes in case yours aren‘t compatable with our pumps. You’ll have to send things like external pacing devices with the patient...occasionally can be bribed with fizzy haribo.

Is your transfer appropriate for SPRINT?

We can help with:

Urgent critical care transfers (ie intracranial bleed, ischaemic limb, AAA)
Capacity transfers of level 3 patients between intensive care units
ICU repatriations post ECMO or trache for respiratory weans in local hospitals

Help us help you

Be prepared before you call with:

Patient details including NHS number
A to E assessment with need for organ support
Clinical history since admission
Past medical history and allergies

Before we arrive:

Discuss transfer with patient and/or next of kin
Nursing and complete medical handover to receiving hospital
Print or copy patient notes, discharge summary, and current drug chart
Stop NG feed once transfer confirmed
Rationalise infusions and give regular medications early as possible
Prepare enough of the ongoing infusions for 3x journey length at current rate
